Ys X: Proud Nordics Japanese PlayStation 5 Release Announced
Nihon Falcom announced a PlayStation 5 release for Ys X: Proud Nordics in Japan. The title will launch physically and digitally for the console in Japan on February 19, 2026, with pre-orders currently available. First-print copies of the physical edition will come with a music CD including twelve tracks from the game. The PlayStation 5 version will feature 4K resolution and 120 frames per second. Nihon Falcom stated that the PlayStation 5 version will also release in the west, though a release date is yet to be announced.
Ys X: Proud Nordics is enhanced version of action RPG Ys X: Nordics. It includes new content set around the added Aland Island and adds new major characters: Canute Gamley and Astrid Zayren. The game released earlier this year in Asia on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam, with NIS America providing a western release on those same platforms in early 2026.
Ys X: Nordics released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in 2024. The game takes place between the events of Ys I & II and Ys: Memories of Celceta. It sees Adol visiting the northern sea’s Obelia Bay, where he encounters a seafaring people called the Normans. After allying with the pirate Karja Balta, the two work to save the archipelago’s people from apparently immortal creatures called Griegr. The game’s combat system allows players to take control of Adol and Karja independently or as a duo, while players can explore the seas on their ship, the Sandras, and engage in naval battles.
