Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga Pushed Back a Few Months

Publisher refint/games announced that the western release of Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga has been pushed back a few months. The crossover fighting game developed by Nihon Falcom was previously planned to release in summer 2025, but is now set for later in 2025. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. The publisher posted the following message:

Greetings, adventurers and bracers!

It has been a while since our last update on Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga, and we want to thank everyone for their patience during this time. Development has been steadily progressing but an unforeseen circumstance outside our control arose, preventing us from continuing work and forced us to reassess our release schedule and make the necessary adjustments.

While our original target was a summer release, after careful consideration, we have decided to delay the game by a few months. This will give us the time needed to ensure that every aspect of the game, from the gameplay to the presentation, meets the quality we strive for and that fans deserve.

We understand it is disappointing to wait longer than expected, but we are confident this decision will lead to a stronger, more polished experience at launch. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing more details, new screenshots, additional information!

Please stay tuned for the upcoming release date trailer!
Thank you again for your continued support and enthusiasm!

Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga originally released for PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2010. The game uses combat based on the engine behind Ys Seven, featuring a selection of characters from the Ys series and the Trails in the Sky trilogy, plus Trails from Zero‘s Lloyd Bannings. In addition to its story mode, it includes local multiplayer for up to four players, with online multiplayer added to the new release. The localisation is based on the fan translation created by the Geofront group.
