Kingdoms of the Dump Releasing in November

Roach Games announced a release window for its upcoming turn-based RPG Kingdoms of the Dump. The title, which underwent a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2019, will launch in November on PC via Steam. The announcement came with a one-and-a-half-minute trailer, which shows snippets of gameplay.

Kingdoms of the Dump is set in the Lands of Fil and stars Dustin Binsley, a sentient trash-can and aspiring knight. Falsely accused of “trashpicking” the king of Garbagia, Dustin must clear his name while evading trash assassins and exposing an evil organization that threatens the world. The game takes inspiration from Super Nintendo RPGs and features six playable characters, each with unique field abilities and fighting styles. Players will be able to swap out characters on the fly, solve puzzles, and overcome obstacles with field abilities such as scrap, climb, and more. There will be no random encounters, as monsters will be visible on screen. Battles take place on a tile board, with turn-based combat, and timed hits added for critical damage and blocking attacks.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
