Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree Introduces Origami and Shigin
Bandai Namco and Brownies Inc. released a new trailer for isometric action roguelite Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree. The new video introduces playable character Origami and Shigin, who join the previously revealed Rekka and Nishiki. Origami comes from the mystical Musuhi Village, whose people live long lives. Previously standing in as village elder, she joins Towa to help put an end to a curse afflicting the village. Meanwhile, Shigin comes from a distant land with different speech and mannerisms. A speedy swordsman, he joins Towa out of hate of the Magaori, the evil Magatsu’s minions.
Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree sees players select two Guardians to venture on each quest; one wields the power of the sacred sword Tsurugi while the other uses the magical staff Kagura. Each Guardian has their own skillsets that can be upgraded both during missions and in the village hub, where they can also upgrade their weapons. Quests take guardians across different timelines, with players able to see the village evolving over the years. Players can develop bonds with the village’s residents and learn more about its customs and stories. The game is set to be released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 18, 2025.
