Bandai Namco, Brownies Announce Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree
Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Brownies Inc. have announced isometric action rougelite Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree. The game is set to be released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 18, 2025. It is available to pre-order now for $29.99, with a $39.99 Digital Deluxe Edition also available that includes a digital artbook and digital soundtrack. All pre-orders will receive a bonus set of character costumes.
Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is set in a far off mystic realm and follows young priestess Towa and her eight companions as they to save Shinju Village from the evil Magatsu and his forces. Players select two Guardians to venture on each quest; one wields the power of the sacred sword Tsurugi while the other uses the magical staff Kagura. Each Guardian has their own skillsets that can upgraded both during missions and in the village hub, where they can also upgrade their weapons.
Quests take guardians across different timelines, with players able to see the village evolving over the years. Players can develop bonds with the village’s residents and learn more about its customs and stories. The game features music from composer Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, Valkyria Chronicles, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, and more).
