Solasta II Switching to 2024 Dungeons & Dragons Ruleset
Developer Tactical Adventures announced that Solasta II, its follow-up to 2021 cRPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister, will be based on the 2024 edition of the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. The game was initially announced to be using the SRD 5.1 ruleset used by its predecessor (based on the original 2014 5th Edition release), but will now use the SRD 5.2 ruleset, which was released in April 2025 and is based on the 2024 revised edition. The game’s current demo, available on Steam, uses the SRD 5.1 ruleset.
Solasta II is set decades after the events of the first game. It sees the high-fantasy realm of Neokos on the edge ruin thanks to the all-powerful being Shadwyn, voiced by Amelia Tyler (Baldur’s Gate III, Hades II). Players create and control a band of adventurers aiming to stop her tide of corruption while dealing with various factions vying for power. It will include co-op for up to four players. The game is still planned to release on Steam Early Access later this year. Those looking to read more can check out RPGamer’s impression of its demo.
