New Release Round-Up (June 12, 2025)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column, we look to provide our readers with details on the major RPGs released in the last week (and a couple we missed out last time around). Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development. Pricing is shown in US dollars before application of any discounts, local pricing may vary.


Bioysque

Bioysque is a retro-style action RPG blending sci-fi and fantasy elements in a bio-horror setting. It sees players fight surreal creatures, aiming to get stronger before fighting the next boss while learning the truth about its story. The game is built around keyboard-and-mouse controls and using quick, precise clicks.


Final Fantasy XVI

Platform: Xbox Series X|S (previously released on PC, PlayStation 5)

The latest mainline entry in the long-running series, Final Fantasy XVI is more heavily action-focused than previous entries. It is set in the high fantasy land of Valisthea, which is dotted with Mothercrystals, towering structures that spread aether. People have built up around the crystals, using the aether for magic and to help them live in comfort. Valisthea is home to incredibly powerful beings called Eikons, Final Fantasy XVI’s variant on the series’s summons, with protagonist Clive Rosfield becoming involved with the dark Eikon Ifrit. Revival Xanadu

Revival Xanadu is a remake of Nihon Falcom’s 1985 action RPG Xanadu, the second game in the Dragon Slayer series, created for NEC PC-9801 computers in 1995. The game sees players battling through ten stages while aiming to defeat the King Dragon at the end. It features symbol-based encounters, with battles letting players use weapon and magic attacks, each of which have a separate growth system.

Note: The main game and gallery screen are in Japanese, while other menu screens and “How to play” screens are in English.


Stellar Blade

Platform: PC (previously released on PlayStation 5)

Sci-fi action RPG Stellar Blade sees protagonist Eve and her allies from the 7th Airborne Squad from humanity’s off-world refuge attempting to reclaim Earth from the monstrous Naytiba. Upon landing, Eve encounters an Earth native called Adam as well as 5th Airborne Squad member Lily, who offer their support as Eve comes to Xion, the last remaining city on Earth. Wizard of Legend 2

Co-op action RPG Wizard of Legend 2 is a follow-up to Contingent99’s 2018 release Wizard of Legend. Up to four players take on the Floating Lands, a gauntlet created by Lanova’s supreme wizard Hieronymus to find a worthy successor. It features new and returning Arcana (base spells), with players able to find effects that can be altered or combined with others in different ways, as well as a persistent progression system as players can unlock more arcane options for subsequent playthroughs.
