Borderlands 4 Story Trailer Released

2K Games and Gearbox Software have released a story trailer for Borderlands 4. The two-minute video gives a preview of the narrative as players control one of four new Vault Hunters on the planet of Kairos.

Kairos is ruled by the oppressive Timekeeper, who uses a spine-crafted cybernetic device called a Bolt to control the populace from the fortress of Dominion City. The arrival of the moon Elpis in Kairos’s orbit and the subsequent destruction it causes sees a potential revolution rise up, with returning character Claptrap becoming a self-proclaimed mastermind of the revolution.

Borderlands 4 will release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 12, 2025. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned to release later in 2025.
