Seeds of Calamity Available on Steam Early Access
Publishers Pretty Soon and Doyoyo Games, and solo developer Laborious Lark Studios, have released life sim RPG Seeds of Calamity on Steam Early Access. The game is expected to spend around nine months in Early Access; the initial Early Access version is said to include ten to twenty hours of content with beginning, middle, and end sections. The Early Access version is priced at $14.99 with a 10% launch discount.
Seeds of Calamity is set twenty years after the Great Calamity as the land recovers from the disaster. Players control an adventurer who leaves the capital to settle in a frontier village and set up their own farm. Players tend crops, raise animals, and craft tools across all four seasons as well as celebrate festivals and help their neighbours. Beyond the village, players can find treasures and artifacts but will need to battle monsters in turn-based combat, aided by their spellbook companion. Players are able to adjust multiple elements including controls, day length, difficulty, colours, and more.
