G-Mode Bringing Two Shin Megami Tensei Mobile Titles to PC, Switch in Japan
Developer G-Mode announced that it is bringing a pair of Shin Megami Tensei spin-off mobile titles to PC and Nintendo Switch in Japan as part of its G-Mode Archives+ label. Shin Megami Tensei: 20XX will release on Nintendo Switch on April 24, 2025, before release for PC via Steam on May 8, 2025. It will be followed by Shin Megami Tensei: Tokyo Requiem on both platforms at a later date.
Shin Megami Tensei: 20XX originally released for Japanese mobile phones in 2004. Developed by Atlus, it acts a prequel to 1994 title Shin Megami Tensei II, taking place decades prior. It is set in the near-future city of Tokyo Millennium, built after an event called the Great Destruction, and follows a young boy living in the Valhalla slums area of the city. Events lead to him being given the ability to communicate with demons and recruit them from the old underground city, in exchange for defeating the tyrannical leader of Valhalla. The game features the series’ traditional Law and Chaos alignment systems as well as systems that let players fuse demons, weapons, and both together.
Shin Megami Tensei: Tokyo Requiem was released in 2007 and developed by Bbmf. The game was released episodically over six episodes and begins on December 24, 201X. It follows a young man in Tokyo meeting with his girlfriend, who receives a message on his phone containing a demon summoning program. Shortly after, Tokyo is destroyed in a nuclear explosion, with the survivors encountering a variety of strange beings.
