Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Opening Movies Released
Konami has released the opening movies for its upcoming Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars collection. The videos, taken from the Japanese version of the remasters, come ahead of the collection’s planned release worldwide on March 6, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Suikoden was originally released for PlayStation in Japan in 1995, with North America and Europe receiving the game in 1996 and 1997. The game follows a general’s son in the Scarlet Moon Empire, who seeks out the 108 warriors known as the Stars of Destiny to help otherthrow a corrupt tyrant.
Suikoden II was released for PlayStation in 1998 in Japan (1999 in North America, 2000 in Europe). It is set some years after the events of the first game and follows a new protagonist and his friend Jowy as they become involved in a new conflict that bubbles up between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowstown. Both games feature turn-based combat with six-person parties, with a wider assortment of characters available to recruit.
