Stratagem Lost Kickstarter Campaign Underway

Developer Hybrid Fiction Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming game Stratagem Lost. The title is a turn-based tactical RPG and visual novel hybrid in development for PC, with a demo currently available on Steam.

Stratagem Lost follows a ragtag team of renegades drafted by the government and tasked with capturing a demonic entity, whose powers are coveted by a group of terrorists. The game’s combat is billed as featuring visual aesthetic akin to snapshots from a comic book. During the turn-based battles, which take place on grid-based maps, a unit can attack, move, and use skills in any order as long as they have the required stamina. Thanks to the Comrade Duo system, two characters can learn skills from each other. Outside of battlefields, characters can bond during Off-Time Segments, revealing their backstories and unlocking new skills. The game is planned to come with over 20 playable characters, 25 chapters with varied objectives, and around 20-30 hours of content. Its cast features Amanda Hufford (The Amazing Digital Circus, Genshin Impact), Joshua Waters (Fire Emblem Heroes, Unicorn Overlord), and Allanah Fitzgerald (Murder Drones). The music is composed by dante gofar, known for his work in AD: Trance and Paper Perjury.

The Kickstarter campaign is set to run until November 13, 2024, and has a $18,000 funding goal. Those who pledge at least $25 will receive a digital copy of the game and its digital artbook.
