Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Shows Naval Combat
Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku Studio released a new trailer for the latest entry in the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The two-minute video introduces the game’s new naval combat, where players battle enemy ships and conquer hidden islands while upgrading their ship the “Goromaru”, as well as showing the secret lawless island of Madlantis. The companies also released a new video message from Ryū ga Gotoku Studio director and executive producer Masayoshi Yokoyama, detailing its new release date of February 21, 2025.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is set a year after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It sees Goro Majima shipwrecked on a deserted island, where he is unable to remember even his name. He travels across the ocean to uncover his identity, joined by a boy named Noah who saved his life. The pair soon become involved in a conflict between cutthroat criminals, modern-day pirates, and other scoundrels over a legendary treasure. In addition to naval combat, the game features action combat with Majima able to switch between “Sea Dog” style, where he dual-wields short swords and pirate tools, or his infamous “Mad Dog” style. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is set to release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
