New Release Round-Up (September 12, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released in the last couple of weeks. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Beneath Oresa

Beneath Oresa looks to combine RPG deckbuilding and “spatial” fighting, where combat is influenced by how close fighters are while cards have different upgrade paths. It sees players diving into the depths of the city of Oresa, selecting a hero as well as a companion, each providing eight unique powers.


Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince sees Psaro cursed by his father, Nadiria’s ruler Randolfo the Tyrant, which stops him from harming monsters. Looking for revenge, he becomes a Monster Wrangler, recruiting and fighting with monsters to build up his own loyal army with over 500 monsters available to recruit. Farming simulation RPG Garden Witch Life puts players in the role of a witch who finds herself jobless and has to move to Moonflower Island to a house previously occupied by another witch. Players are tasked with building and taking care of their own garden, whose produce is used to make spells, mix potions, and get close to townsfolk. The garden can also be the home of various creatures, allowing the player to care of them. In addition, players can explore Moonflower Island and uncover its mysteries.


Metro Quester | Osaka

Dungeon crawler Metro Quester | Osaka is a follow-up to the title Quester that was released on consoles as Metro Quester. It is intended to be reminiscent of 1980s video games and is set in a world designed by manga artist Kazushi Hagiwara (Bastard!!), with game design from Hironori Kato (Dark Souls and Elden Ring tabletop RPGs). The game sees players explore desolate dungeons in the city of Osaka. It includes thirty-two characters with eight classes as well as features including a bestiary and New Game Plus mode.
