New Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos DLC Set for October

Developer and publisher Natsume announced a new piece of DLC for farming sim RPG Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos. The DLC, which is titled The Great Outdoors Pack, will release on October 3, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It will be priced at $9.99 individually but will be free for those who purchased the game’s Season Pass.

The Great Outdoors Pack DLC will allow players to go on camping trips and take part in treasure hunting. They will be able to upgrade their camping tent and cook camping-themed dishes to improve their stamina. Pets brought on camping trips will have various exploration-related abilities, while the ones left home will be taken part by a robot. Players participating in treasure hunting will uncover some mysteries of Anthos, with some easter eggs referencing other Natsume titles. The DLC will also add two new characters, one for camping and one for treasure hunting.

Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos is set in the world of Anthos, which is home to Harvest Sprites that protect people and nature, as well as the Harvest Goddess. However, ten years prior to the game, an eruption in its volcanic region saw the Sprites and Goddess needing to use all of their power to protect the people and left the villages cut off from each other. The player assumes the role of an individual who sets out to reconnect all villages of Anthos after receiving a message for help from the Harvest Goddess.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
