Touhou Genso Wanderer -Foresight- Getting Console Release
Publisher Phoenixx and developer AQUASTYLE announced that Touhou Genso Wanderer -Foresight- is set to release for both Playstation and the Switch on the September 18, 2024.
The game first released for PC via Steam earlier this year and is one of the many fan projects based on the Touhou Project shoot-’em-up franchise, following the official guidelines that can be found here. The game is slated to have a physical release in Japan for both consoles on November 28, 2024, with both a standard and limited edition available to buy. The limited edition will include: an art book, an acrylic diorama stand, the original soundtrack, and two in-game costume DLC.
Touhou Genso Wanderer -Foresight- follows protagonist Reimu Hakurei and her friend Marisa Kirisame as they both solve incidents across Gensokyo. Reimu works to restore Hakurei Shrine having no memory for what she had been doing previously after losing a battle and fainting. The game is a dungeon crawler similar to Spike Chunsoft’s Mystery Dungeon series, where the layouts of dungeon floors are randomly generated.
The PlayStation and the Switch releases will include new features. There are new spell cards that allow players to harness bosses’ moves as well as use the abilities of characters in other Touhou Project games. A new character has been added to the Hakurei Shrine renovation content adding additional events, including a new dungeon. There are also revamped illustrations for characters, weapons and armor.
