New Release Round-Up (August 1, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released this week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.

Frontier Hunter: Erza’s Wheel of Fortune

Frontier Hunter: Erza’s Wheel of Fortune is a sidescrolling Metroidvania RPG. The game follows Erza, a legendary hunter in the imperial army of a fantasy world of swords and magic. She leads an expedition team, fighting monsters and uncovering secrets of the world.

Minds Beneath Us

Minds Beneath Us is a sci-fi adventure set in a futuristic Asian city where society is run by advanced AI. Players find themselves trapped in another body alongside the subconscious of its original owner. Players make decisions and dialogue choices that shape character relationships and the direction of the story.

Sword of Convallaria

Fantasy tactical RPG Sword of Convallaria is set on the continent of Rodinia, and begins in the nation of Iria, which is rich in magical minerals called Luxite. After waking in a dungeon, players head to the town of Convallaria, which is under threat from neighbouring conflicts, and become leader of a mercenary group navigating various factions and choices. The game features a grid-based tactical combat system and a variety of heroes and companions to recruit.

Trinity Fusion

Side-scrolling action roguelike Trinity Fusion puts players in the role of inter-dimensional warrior Maya. She is linked to three of her parallel selves, fighting against mutants and machines bent on destroying humanity. Players choose between the three versions of Maya with their different weapons and abilities, exploring procedurally-generated levels across a variety of biomes.
