New Release Round-Up (March 16, 2023)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Absinthia

Absinthia is set in the Ambrose Isles, which is home to a wide variety of locales including a pirate port, a desert kingdom, and isle of beasts. Katti Town is one of its safer havens, however, it finds itself under attack from a horde of shadowy minions led by Lilith. Fortunately, a wandering knight, Freya, appears and takes three villagers — warrior Sera, mage Thomas, and rogue Jake — under her wing to fight off Lilith and her forces. The game’s turn-based combat features a MP-regeneration system with multiple difficulty options. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch releases are planned to follow courtesy of Ratalaika Games.


Bleak Faith: Forsaken

Action RPG Bleak Faith: Forsaken sees players exploring their own path through the remnant of civilisations within the perpetually-expanding, interconnected Omnistructure. The game features a class and perk system built around multiple gameplay styles and weapon types, with combat focusing on positioning, timing, and resource management.


The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure

Platform: PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is the second part of the series’ Crossbell duology and takes place following the events of The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero. The game continues following the adventure of the Crossbell Police Department’s Special Support Section as rising tensions affect the city state. Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is an isometric hack-and-slash RPG where players control one of three survivors of the slaughter of Castagath. They are rescued and drafted into the Republic’s Army of the Purifiers to be trained as soldiers to fight the supernatural. The game features a classless character progression system, with players’ builds based on their equipment and skill tree selections. The release of the console version is accompanied by the game’s fourth and final story act, titled “Endgame”, which is available as a free download for existing PC owners of the game.
