Xbox Series X|S Version of Wartales Receives New DLC

Developer and publisher Shiro Unlimited released two DLC for the Xbox Series X|S version of its tactical RPG Wartales. These DLC, titled Pirates of Belerion and The Tavern Opens, were previously released for PC. The developer didn’t mention any plan to bring these DLC to Nintendo Switch as of yet.

Pirates of Belerion is set in an archipelago that made up the old kingdom of Belerion. Since the kingdom’s collapse, the population has turned to piracy to survive and many sailors refuse to travel its waters. Players embark on a new 25-hour adventure as they seek to conquer the seas while upgrading their ship and uncovering the secrets of the region.

The Tavern Opens adds the option for players to manage and expand their own tavern, selecting the decor, hiring employees, and crafting a menu. Patrons from up to fifteen different factions can visit with their preferences in food, drinks, and atmosphere, while players can also send crew members to steal gold and recipes from rivals.

Wartales takes place in the remnants of the Edoran Empire, which still suffer from the effects of a plague one hundred years earlier. Players attempt to survive the cutthroat world by recruiting mercenaries and taking on dangerous missions to pay the bills. The game released for PC in April 2023, before also being released on Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S.
