Designated Demigod Announced

Developer AN Productions and publisher Armor Games Studios have announced a turn-based, combo-focused RPG, Designated Demigod. The game, which takes inspiration from fighting games, is due for release on PC via Steam as well as currently-unspecified consoles in 2025.

Designated Demigod follows the adventures of Signy fifteen years after she becomes orphaned due to an explosion at the Mountain Research Center. Following the re-emergence of tremors, Signy, along with her puppy Mino, makes her way to the research center, unaware that a mountain god named Auger has been awakened by Dr. Seltzer.

The game’s combat places heavy emphasis on combos, allowing players to switch between Signy and Mino. For example, they can utilize Mino’s nose launch to send enemies airborne, while Signy follows up with a Firestorm before delivering a finishing blow. There is a variety of combos that players can craft, aided by Mino. Additionally, players will explore underground tunnels, beachside cliffs, and the sinister research center as they encounter varied NPCs such as Signy’s grandmother (baba), ex-gods, a cursed ex-warrior, and many more along the way. The game will also feature hand-drawn character art and 3D environments.

I have been gaming since I received the Sega Master System as a young child, which was the first console I ever owned (Yes, I am that old). The game that got me into RPGs was Final Fantasy VIII, a game that I still adore to this day. My favorite RPG of all time, however, is Shadow Hearts on the PS2. I do have many other interests outside of gaming as well, such as watching old-school wrestling, Reading books, 80s movies.... or anything 80s related as a matter of fact.
