New Release Round-Up (April 11, 2024)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Broken Roads

Isometric narrative-driven RPG Broken Roads is set in post-apocalyptic Western Australia and follows a group of companions as they travel across the region making allies, battling enemies, and investigating strange goings-on. The game features real-time exploration with turn-based combat and a hand-drawn art style, as well as character development built around four philosophies: Humanist, Utilitarian, Machiavellian, and Nihilist.


Inkbound

Tactical roguelite RPG Inkbound had been in Steam Early Access since May 2023. The game features roguelike elements as players explore the magical Atheneum Library and the infinite worlds found within it. Players explore in real-time, with the game transitioning to turn-based combat. It can be played solo or in co-op with up to three other players.


Moonglow Bay

Platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch (previously released on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S)

Fishing RPG Moonglow Bay is set in the eponymous Moonglow Bay, former jewel of the Canadian coastline. However, rumours of dangerous creatures have ruined the fishing trade, putting the town on the verge of bankruptcy just before its centennial anniversary. Players start a business to honor their partner’s final wish to revive the town. They can cook and sell recipes, upgrade their fishing equipment and boat, set traps and nets, and explore a variety of locations while investigating the rumours of strange creatures. Withering Rooms

Platform: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

Withering Rooms is a 2.5D horror RPG with roguelite elements set in a procedurally-generated Victorian mansion that changes each night. Players explore the house looking to gather weapons and tools to defeat the undead, witches, madmen, and more within. They can perform rituals to preserve items between nights as well as to permanently level up.
