Streets of Rogue 2 Gets Second Devlog Video

Solo developer Matt Dabrowski revealed a second devlog video for Streets of Rogue 2. The developer explains in this seventy-minute-long video the upcoming RPG’s procedural world generation. This feature randomizes the location of various elements in the game, offering a different world to explore during each playthrough. The developer intends to grant players the ability to either replicate anything in the game or make use of pre-made structures. Other features that may be implemented include the option to zoom-out and a mutator granting more freedom during city building.

Streets of Rogue 2 is set in a sandbox world with players aiming to overthrow the corrupt president and take control of the country themselves, and includes online and local co-op. It blends a wide variety of genres with players given a large amount of freedom with the play style and potential tools and weapons. Applications for its first alpha playtest are open now, with the game planned to receive a Steam Early Access release in 2024.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly become obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPG. At the time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as more as gameplay. Now, I am, writing about them, especially my favorite ones, the JRPG!
