Developer Acquire Purchased by Kadokawa

Kadokawa Corporation announced that it has acquired developer Acquire from GungHo Online Entertainment. As announced on Kadokawa’s earnings results for the quarter ending December 31, 2023, the developer is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Kadokawa Corporation.

Acquire was founded in 1994 and recently developed titles including Labyrinth of Zangetsu and Akiba’s Beat, as well as working with Square Enix on the Octopath Traveler series. It joins other Kadokawa subsidiaries including developer and publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer FromSoftware.
