Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Trailer Spotlights Sephiroth
Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The minute-long video highlights main antagonist Sephiroth while teasing some of the scenes in the game, which acts as the second part of the planned Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.
In addition, Square Enix released a new batch of screenshots for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The first two images show the city of Junon and the cruise ship Shinra-8, while character screenshots show party members Cait Sith and Yuffie, as well as Elena, a rookie member of Shinra’s Turks squad, and Captain Titov, the captain of the Shinra-8.
The final images showcase Yuffie and Cait Sith’s combat abilities. Yuffie strikes enemies with her large throwing star and is able to fill her ATB bar faster than others. In addition, she can use magic-infused ninjutsu abilities, chaining attacks together while switching their elemental affinity, as well as the Doppelgänger ability where she can attack in tandem with a cloned form. Meanwhile, Cait Sith is able to dart around the battlefield, but can switch to ride on his large Moogle. His moves can hurt enemies or buff allies, but rely on luck in some way. Yuffie and Cait Sith have their own synergy ability, Moogle Pinwheel, which can be activated when the synergy gauge is filled.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to release for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. Taking place after the events of Remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available as a standalone title, with its physical version to be spread over two discs.
