Video Round-Up (July 30, 2023)

Welcome to RPGamer’s video release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the video reviews, impressions, features, and more uploaded recently to our YouTube channel.

Trinity Trigger Review

Trinity Trigger is an action RPG set in the of world Trinitia, where the Gods of Order and the Gods of Chaos previously fought for control, but now use proxies to fight for them. Main protagonist Cyan Erleus, a young man living in a quiet village, discovers he is a Warrior of Chaos, and embarks on a journey to try and change his fate.

Redemption Reapers Review

Tactical RPG Redemption Reapers is set in a world beset by the sudden appearance of the Mort armies. Players control the Ashen Hawk Brigade, a mercenary group specialising in surprise tactics fighting back against the Mort.

Miasma Chronicles Review

Miasma Chronicles is a strategy RPG set in Kentucky, 140 years after the collapse of the Great Stability that came with the appearance of the Miasma. The game follows the duo of Elvis, a young boy with a mysterious glove, and Diggs, his robot companion. It features real-time exploration before turning to turn-based combat.

Darkest Dungeon II Review

Turn-Based RPG Darkest Dungeon II sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. The game features a refined version the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.

Final Fantasy XVI Review

Final Fantasy XVI is an action-RPG set in the high fantasy land of Valisthea, which is dotted with Mothercrystals, towering structures that spread aether. People have built up around the crystals, using the aether for magic and to help them live in comfort. Valisthea is home to incredibly powerful beings called Eikons, Final Fantasy XVI’s variant on the series’s summons, with protagonist Clive Rosfield becoming involved with the dark Eikon Ifrit.

Tails of Iron Review

Tails of Iron follows Redgi, heir to the Rat Throne, as he tries to restore his kingdom by defeating the Frog Clan and its leader Greenwart. The game features challenging 2D action combat, with players able to customise Redgi’s combat capabilities and style with different weapons and armor. It also includes crafting and sidequests, with players aided by companions on selected missions.

WrestleQuest Preview Build Impression

WrestleQuest follows an aspiring rookie wrestler as pro wrestling and fantasy collide in this turn-based RPG. The game features licenced wrestlers from the ’80s through to today including “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Booker T, Andre The Giant, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Diamond Dallas Page, Jeff Jarrett, and more.
