Shadows Over Loathing Cast onto Switch

Update — Serenity Forge stated that its initial “fall 2023” date refers to a Q1 2024 release window for the physical editions.

Asymmetric Publications announced that its comedic turn-based RPG Shadows Over Loathing is out now Nintendo Switch, and will also be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at a later date. The game, which launched on PC in November 2022, is available digitally for $23.00. In addition, physical editions created in partnership with Serenity Forge will be available to pre-order from multiple retailers tomorrow, planned to ship in fall 2023. The physical release will come in Standard and Collector’s Editions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The Collector’s Edition includes:

  • Standard edition of Shadows Over Loathing for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 5
  • Set of postcards
  • Glow-in-the-dark sticker sheet
  • Window sticker set
  • Microfibre mapkin

A follow-up to West of Loathing, Shadows over Loathing is set in in a bizarre, eldritch version of 1920s America. Players travel to Ocean City, where they are tasked with finding and retrieving a variety of cursed items as they search for their Uncle Murray.
