Ghostwire: Tokyo Getting Free Update, Xbox Release

Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks announced a free content update for action adventure title Ghostwire: Tokyo. The Spider’s Thread update will release for PC and PlayStation 5 on April 12, 2023, the same day that the game will release on Xbox Series X|S with the update’s contents included.

The Spider’s Thread update adds a new 30-stage gauntlet, with stages selected from 120 potential levels. Clearing challenges and stages will grant players skills and currency to use on upgrades. It also adds a new area to the main game — including a local Middle School — with new missions, as well as extended cutscenes, new enemies, and new skills.

Ghostwire: Tokyo takes place in a supernatural foggy Tokyo, where the populace has been replaced by creatures called Visitors. The game follows Akito, a young man who ends up sharing his body with ghost hunter K.K. as they explore the deserted streets looking for Akito’s sister and the hannya mask-wearing man responsible for what’s going on.
