Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster Set for Summer

Bandai Namco announced Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster, a collection of remastered versions of Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Baten Kaitos Origins. The remaster collection will release for Nintendo Switch in summer 2023.

Both Baten Kaitos games were developed by Monolith Soft and tri-Crescendo, and originally released for Nintendo GameCube. They feature card-based combat systems and mechanics, with players taking the role of a guardian spirit who guides the protagonists on their journey. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean follows Kalas who joins Xelha as both seek to defeat the Alfard Empire for their own reasons. Baten Kaitos Origins takes place twenty years prior to Eternal Wings and follows Sagi, a member of an elite unit in the Alfard Empire who seeks to clear his name.

The HD Remaster versions of the games will feature improved graphics, as well as options to turn encounters off, an auto-battle, a cutscene skip option, and auto-save. Bandai Namco announced that they will not include any additional content and feature only Japanese voice overs.
