Path of the Midnight Sun Opening in January
Developer Studio Daimon announced that turn-based RPG Path of the Midnight Sun will release on January 10, 2023. The game, which underwent a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in 2019, will be available for PC via Steam, priced at $24.99/€24.99/£22.99.
Path of the Midnight Sun is set on the continent of Arvium, which is under threat from a Demon King. After his arrival sixty years prior, humanity managed to trap the Demon King’s soul within a human. These humans are known as “Vassals”, but after a period of peace, the latest Vassal — Lady Faratras Hoikade — murders her soldiers.
Players pick one of the three main protagonists to control, with relationships forming a major part of the game. Companions’ mental states are impacted by communication, or lack of it, with players potentially finding romance among them. The game is said to be around 30 hours long and features hand-drawn artwork, animated through Live2D, as well as multiple difficulty options.
