The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen Version Releasing Next Month

CD Projekt RED announced that its dedicated PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release on December 14, 2022. The new versions will be available as the “Complete Edition” — also available on PC — and come with all of the game’s free DLC and both the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions included. Those who own the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be able to upgrade to the new versions for free, with the PC version to also receive an update containing the next-gen improvements including ray tracing support, improved load times, and mod integration.

In addition, CD Projekt RED a both the new versions and the existing PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch release will receive a free update containing selected improvements and new content. The content will be based on The Witcher TV series from Netflix.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt follows Geralt of Rivia as he searches for his surrogate daughter, Ciri, as she is being chased by the Wild Hunt. The game was originally released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2015, and received RPGamerā€™s Game of the Year Award. A Nintendo Switch version was released in 2019.
