Google Stadia Shutting Down in January

Google announced that it is shutting down its Google Stadia game streaming service. The service will shut down on January 18, 2023. Google stated that it will be offering refunds for all hardware purchases as well as all game and add-on content purchases made through the Stadia store, with the process expected to be completed in mid-January 2023.

Google Stadia originally launched in November 2019 through Chromecast Ultra devices, before being steadily rolled out to other selected Android devices. The service comes with a free level as well as a monthly Pro paid subscription option that provides higher streaming rates and access to an additional library of games. Other titles require that users purchase them separately.
