Live A Live Remake Trailers Highlight More Eras

Square Enix released four new trailers for the upcoming Live A Live Remake. The new videos each focus one of the eight periods and stories in the game, each of which features its own protagonist. This batch includes:

• The Wild West — Wanted gunslinger the Sundown Kid arrives in the frontier town of Success. After running across a gang of outlaws, he is persuaded by the townsfolk to fight back against the gang.
• The Middle Ages — Young warrior Oersted sets out to defeat the Lord of Dark. He is accompanied by his trusted allies as they seek to rescue Princess Alethea.
• The Near Future — Akira lives in an orphanage with his sister Kaori. With the use of his psychokinetic powers, he investigates kidnappings by a notorious biker gang that lead to a conspiracy that can only be stopped by resurrecting the Steel Titan.
• Twilight of Edo Japan — Enma clan shinobi Oboromaru infiltrates an enemy castle. Oboromaru is able to use his Shroud of Shadows to conceal himself and only use violence when needed, or can elect take out every enemy his comes across.

Live A Live was released for Super Famicom in Japan in 1994 and has not previously been released in the west. The game features a turn-based combat system and the main scenarios can be played in any order, with each including its own gameplay gimmicks. The remake utilises the HD-2D graphical style used in Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and will release globally on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022.
