Live A Live Trailers Show Prehistory, Imperial China

Nintendo released two new trailers for Square Enix’s upcoming remake of Live A Live. The videos focus on two of the eight periods and stories in the game, each of which features its own protagonist. The first video highlights the Prehistory period, where two youths embark on an adventure in a time before words, while the second highlights Imperial China, where kung fu master Shifu determines which of his disciples is worthy of becoming his successor.

Live A Live was released for Super Famicom in Japan in 1994 and has not previously been released in the west. The game features a turn-based combat system and the main scenarios can be played in any order, with each including its own gameplay gimmicks. The remake utilises the HD-2D graphical style used in Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and will release globally on Nintendo Switch on July 22, 2022.
