Sword of Legends Online 2.0 Expansion, Move to Free-to-Play Announced

Gameforge, Wangyuan Shengtang, and Aurogon announced their version 2.0 expansion to MMORPG Sword of Legends Online. The 2.0 update — titled The Firestone Legacy — will release on February 24, 2022. With its release, the game will move to a free-to-play model and the game will also be made available in Russia and CIS territories. All of the game’s content, including that in the 2.0 update, will be available to all players, in-game purchases to remain restricted to cosmetic items. Those who have purchased the buy-to-play version of the game will receive a bonus package and who purchased the game after January 17, 2022, can receive a full refund.

The 2.0 update to Sword of Legends Online will include two new classes, the Fox Mage and Warrior, with the Warrior split into the male-only Crystal Warrior and female-only Spirit Warrior sub-classes. It will also add new character slots, an increased level cap, and two new story chapters to bring the total to twelve. There will be five new zones as well as five new dungeons, two new raids, a new 3v3 PvP map, and a new 10v10 PvP map.

Swords of Legends Online is set in a fantasy world based on Chinese mythology. The game originally released in China in July 2019 before launching for PC in North America and Europe in 2021.
