Star Wars: The Old Republic Teases Legacy of the Sith

BioWare released a new teaser trailer for MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republics upcoming expansion, Legacy of the Sith. The minute-long video teases the expansion’s story as new threats arise in the galaxy while the renegade Sith Darth Malgus advances his secret plans.

Legacy of the Sith will release for PC on February 15, 2022. It will increase the game’s level cap from 75 to 80 and introduce a new Combat Styles feature. This lets players separate their class story and gameplay class, letting players take on any advanced class within the tech or force categories. Players will also be able to instantly swap play styles and gear with new loadouts. New locations in the expansion include the aquatic planet Manaan, which has its own Imperial and Republic storylines, as well as a ruined Sith fortress on the planet Elom.

Star Wars: The Old Republic was originally released in December 2011, starting as a subscription-based title but switching to free-to-play with an optional subscription in 2012. Players create a character from one of eight classes — four siding with the Sith Empire and the remaining four with the Galactic Republic — each having its own story and AI companions, with players able to make various Light Side and Dark Side-aligned decisions throughout.
