Actraiser Renaissance Released

Square Enix has announced and released a remaster for Super Nintendo city-building platforming RPG Actraiser. Actraiser Renaissance is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, priced at $29.99. Those who purchase the game before November 1, 2021, for Nintendo Switch or on Steam will receive a wallpaper and a five-track mini soundtrack, while those who purchase the game on the PlayStation Store will receive an original PlayStation 4 theme.

Actraiser was originally developed by Quintet and released in Japan in 1990 and in North America in 1991. Players control an animated statue of an angel. While controlling the angel, the game becomes an overhead simulation as players guide their civilisation, intervening where needed. The Renaissance version includes upgraded graphics, new city-building segments, new magic, new upward and downward attacks, the option to toggle between the original and remastered soundtracks composed by Yuzo Koshiro, a new auto-save, and new difficulty options.
