NIS Classics Volume 1 Highlights Phantom Brave Remastered

NIS America has released a new trailer to go along with the upcoming release of Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1. The two-minute video spotlights Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle Remastered, a tactical RPG that follows 13-year-old Marona, who lives on an island on the oceanic world of Ivoire with her guardian phantom Ash. Marona earns a living by working as a Chroma, effectively a mercenary for hire. The game features a turn-based combat system with a gridless map that makes heavy use of the environment’s traction, or lack thereof. Alex Fuller’s review of the original PSP release can be read here.

Phantom Brave was originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004, with a Nintendo Wii version released in 2009, a PlayStation Portable version released in 2011, and a PC version released in 2016. The second title in the bundle will be 2007 PlayStation 2 strategy RPG Soul Nomad & the World Eaters, which will also have its own worldwide PC release on August 31, 2021. Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1 will launch for Nintendo Switch in North America on August 31, 2021, and in Europe on September 3, 2021.
