Lite Edition for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remaster Revealed

Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition Lite, a free demo edition of the upcoming Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition. The Lite Edition will launch digitally for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android alongside the main version on August 27, 2020. It will give players access to the first three dungeons in the game in both single-player and cross-platform online multiplayer modes, with progress able to be transferred to the full game. Meanwhile, owners of the full game will be able to host a party of four players through up to thirteen dungeons using just a single copy of the game between them.

In addition, Square Enix released a new trailer showing some of the new features present in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition. These include a Mimic feature that lets players take on the appearance of other characters, quick chat options, a new magic timing mechanic, UI improvements, new high-difficulty dungeons, and an updated soundtrack with over fifty pieces newly composed by original soundtrack composer Kumi Tanioka.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is a remaster of the original Nintendo GameCube title released in 2004. The co-op action RPG sees players controlling a group of adventurers searching for myrrh, a fuel for crystals that protect the world’s settlements from a poisonous miasma. The party carries along a chalice that forms a limited protective bubble against the miasma. The remaster will include cross-play and cross-save across all four platforms.
