Tactical RPG The Last Spell Announced

Developer CCCP has announced The Last Spell, a turn-based tactical RPG with roguelite elements. The game sees players controlling a group of heroes attempting to defend humanity’s last refuge against monstrous hordes unleashed after an arcane arms race. This race produced an arcane mist filled with monsters that turns those who touch it into monsters, if it doesn’t kill them or drive them mad. Players are tasked with defending one final effort to save the world through the casting of one final spell designed to eliminate all magic from the world.

The Last Spell features a day-night cycle where players use the daytime to build defences, set traps, or train up replacements to lost forces. Characters are customisable, with the weapons equipped determining their abilities in combat. Night sees the assault of hundreds of enemy creatures, which players need to take down before they reach the magicians attempting to break seals. The combat is grid-based but designed to be fast-paced and encouraging of party optimisation and aggressive tactics.

The Last Spell is being developed for PC and Mac, with its release currently planned for 2020. A Nintendo Switch version is also in development and will be released at a later date.
