System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Announced

Nightdive Studios has announced that it is currently working on System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, an updated version of the 1999 survival horror RPG System Shock 2. No details have been revealed about the upcoming Enhanced Edition, which follows Nightdive Studios’ previous System Shock: Enhanced Edition release in 2015 that included numerous graphical and control upgrades as well as fan missions and mod support.

System Shock 2 takes place in 2114, 42 years after the events of the first game. The game puts players on the faster-than-light starship, the Von Braun, on its maiden voyage and its accompanying ship, the Rickenbacker. During the voyage, the ships respond to a distress signal from an alien planet, which results in them being taken over by a force dubbed the Many. Nightdive Studios is also currently working on a reboot of the original game, while OtherSide Entertainment is currently developing System Shock 3.
