Forged of Blood Update Adds Sandbox Mode

Developer Critical Forge has released a new update for its tactical RPG and grand strategy hybrid Forged of Blood. In addition to numerous bug fixes, the update adds a new sandbox mode titled The Attiran Conquest. The mode becomes available once players have completed the first act in the story campaign and removes all faction and character arcs. Certain events will remain, but no events will occur after the end date of the main game and the mode will continue until players fall or conquer the world. The update also introduces a slider to let players increase or reduce the Philosophical Distance Threshold, which deals with differences between player decisions and the philosophies of their allies.

Forged of Blood is set in the fantasy world of Attiras and combines turn-based tactical RPG combat with a grand strategy-style campaign map. The game is said to feature a character system without classes that utilises nine weapon types and a multi-layered spellcrafting system. It also features a “Tri-axis Personality Plot” system based on the philosophies of Altruism, Rationalism, and Hedonism in place of a traditional good vs. evil scale. The game is currently available for PC via Steam.
