PlatinumGames Provides More Astral Chain Info

PlatinumGames has unveiled the offical website for its recently-announced title Astral Chain, providing a few more details about the game. Astral Chain is set in a futuristic, multicultural city called The Ark. However, the peace is shaken when extradimensional gates appear and alien creatures attack the populace. To combat the disaster, The Ark’s authorities form a task force known as Neuron.

Neuron’s seemingly only way of fighting back relies on a living weapon called the Legion. Players act as a rookie officer in Neuron, choosing either the male or female character of a pair of twins, with the other appearing in the game as the player character’s closest ally in the squad. Players will control two characters at once in what PlatinumGames describes as Synergetic Action.

Astral Chain is being directed by Takahisa Taura, game designer on NieR: Automata, and is being supervised by Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya, with character designs from Masakazu Katsura. The game is set to be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch on August 30, 2019.
