Bandai Namco Provides Some Tales of Crestoria Setting Info

Bandai Namco has provided a few additional details for its upcoming Japanese mobile RPG Tales of Crestoria. The new details primarily concern the game’s protagonist, Kanata Hjuger, as well as the game world’s system of justice, which Kanata has been caught up in.

In Crestoria‘s world, all of its people are required to wear an item called a Vision Orb. This orb records everything seen by its wearer. Each settlement also has a device called the Vision Central situated in town squares or churches that publicly displays the information on the Vision Orbs, with other townsfolk able to deliver votes of guilt on the actions shown. Judgement is delivered by people called Enforcers, who round up those with enough guilty votes and engrave part of the accused with a “mark of sin”. Kanata is the son of a village monk and generally goes out of his way to help out and protect the weak. However, he becomes branded as a criminal and begins to note the corruption of the world around him.

Tales of Crestoria will be free-to-play with in-game transactions and will be available on iOS and Android. No release date has been given, nor has there been any announcement regarding a western release.
