Paradox Interactive Acquires Harebrained Schemes

Publisher and developer Paradox Interactive has announced an agreement for it to acquire developer Harebrained Schemes. Founded in 2011 by Jordan Weisman and Mitch Gitelman, Harebrained Schemes previously developed Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun: Hong Kong and Necropolis. The developer will be considered an internal studio within Paradox Interactive with its own management and creative teams.

Paradox Interactive and Harebrained Schemes recently partnered for mech-based strategy title BattleTech, which was released for PC earlier this year. With the announcement of the developer’s acquisition, Paradox Interactive announced that all backers of the Kickstarter campaign for BattleTech will receive a copy of sci-fi grand strategy title Stellaris for free.
