Pillars of Eternity II Makes a Critical Role

Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Versus Evil have announced a new collaboration with web series  Critical Role for the upcoming Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. The cast of Critical Role will be reprising their characters from the series’ first season, Vox Machina, for the voices of player-created party members. Character portraits will also be made available as free DLC when the game launches on PC and Mac on May 8, 2018.

Deadfire continues the story the first Pillars of Eternity in the aftermath of a dormant god awakening and destroying the player’s stronghold. Chasing the god to the Deadfire Archipelago, players will embark on a new adventure featuring seven companions, the ability to commandeer their own ship, and an open-ended story that will allow for freedom of exploration and choices for the player.
