Chrono Trigger Released on Steam

Though it didn’t announce it ahead of time, Square Enix has released classic RPG Chrono Trigger for PC via Steam. The game is available to download for $14.99/£11.99/€14.99, with those who purchase it before April 2, 2018 also receiving a medley track, composer Yasunori Mitsuda’s digital liner notes, and six PC wallpapers.

The Steam release includes various extra features including: the “Dimensional Vortex” and “Lost Sanctum” dungeons initially added in the DS and mobile versions, enhanced visuals, re-recorded soundtrack, updated controls, and an autosave feature. In addition, the extra PC features will be made available for those who own the game on iOS and Android.

Chrono Trigger was originally released for Super Nintendo in 1995, before later coming to PlayStation, Nintendo DS, iOS, and Android. The game features an Active Time Battle system and a story that spans the history of its setting as its characters travel between various time periods.
