HOSHiN ENGi Re:surrection Announced for 2027
Shueisha Games and LASTWONDER have announced HOSHiN ENGi Re:surrection, an action roguelite based on the Hoshin Engi manga series by Ryu Fujisaki. The game is set after the events of the manga and is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. It is planned to release in 2027.
Hoshin EngiĀ ran from 1996 to 2000 and received two anime series adaptations. The series itself is based on the 16th-century Chinese novel Investiture of the Gods and is set in a version of ancient China during the fall of a dynasty while immortals, demons, and mythic beasts fight in a war that spills into the human world. HOSHiN ENGi Re:surrection follows a new hero, Toshin, who descends into rearranging dungeons. The game’s combat is built around Paope, mythic treasures wielded by gods and immortals, which slot together and evolve as they are upgraded. Toshin is also joined by a spirit beast companion who he can ride and fights alongside him, and can bond with legendary characters who will offer support in battle and the opportunity to spar for rewards.
