Calame Provides First Gameplay Look, Demo

Developer Nextale released a gameplay trailer for its upcoming isometric tactical RPG Calame. The two-minute video comes alongside the release of a demo for the game, which is available on Steam and lets players go through its first four chapters. Calame is currently set to release on PC later this year, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions planned for 2027.

Calame is set in realm of Westalia, where players lead a rebellion against the tyrannical King of Light. Players customise their army with melee specialists, ranged fighters, mages, and support classes, including level-ups, skill unlocks, and legendary gear. The game also includes a reactive choice system where decisions made during conversations and events can directly alter the Rebellion’s political alignment and grant passive traits that reshape playstyles, faction relationships, and the story. In addition, a special Legend resource allows players to actively rewrite and manipulate the battlefield environment mid-combat.
