River City Saga: Journey to the West Receives Official Trailer

Arc System Works released an official trailer for its latest Kunio-kun beat-’em-up title, River City Saga: Journey to the West. The 40-second video gives a quick look at the game’s combat and roguelike elements ahead of its worldwide release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on June 4, 2026.

River City Saga: Journey to the West sees the series offer its own comedic beat-’em-up take on Chinese novel Journey to the West. It sees Kunio as all four of the main characters — Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, and Tang Sanzang — with additional Kunio-kun characters in other roles. The game sees players utilise three different fighting styles through Sun Wukong’s focus on speed, Zhu Bajie’s emphasis on power, and Sha Wujing’s long-range attacks. Players can obtain 80 different Secret Skills from gods who randomly appear as players progress through stages.
