War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Shutting Down in Japan
Square Enix and gumi Inc. announced that the Japanese version of mobile strategy RPG War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will end service on May 28, 2026. The closure of the Japanese version comes a year after the closure of the international version. The development stated that an offline version of the game was considered, but deemed too difficult to create given its focus on online interactions, with Square Enix instead planning special videos to revisit the story and a memorial book.
War of the Visions initially launched in Japan in 2019 for Android and iOS, with an international version following four months later. It is a spin-off title to Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, but is set before the events of Brave Exvius. Players control Mont Leonis as a default character, but can summon more characters with the game’s gacha mechanics. The story revolves around Mont and his family as a war breaks out over control of the Ardran continent.
